Photoshop: Spot healing

Spot healing.

I looked at the spot healing tool, which is located in the left hand bar and is a little icon that looks like a plaster, I selected this tool which then brought up various options such as changing the size od the brush and the hardness.

After I had selected my desired tool, I then used the top tool bar to select my options, these were; "Proximity match" this samples the areas around your cursor and uses this information to know what colours should be changed and what shouldn't necessarily be there. I then also selected "Sample all layers" which allowed Photoshop to 'see through' all the layers.

I used the spot healing tool in this example to remove all the dog hair from the floor and leave a clear ground that the dog is stood on, I believe this makes the photograph look neater, and takes away the distraction, helping emphasis the main subject the dog.
